Following the Library's interior renovation in summer 2018, the Library Board set a tentative slate of future building improvements. These plans are subject to change.

Fiscal Year 2019-2020

Building Improvement

Purpose

Add tween space in YS in the area currently occupied by the checkers and chess tables Supports vision: “Because the community emphasizes education for students of all ages, the Library's primary role is that of a Formal Education Support Center.”
Upgrade one of the two drinking fountains downstairs with a bottle filler Demonstrates the Library’s commitment to responsible stewardship of the facility;  Meets patron need for access to plentiful, good-tasting water
Exterior Paint Demonstrates the Library’s commitment to responsible stewardship of the facility
Update non-digital portions of digital sign Demonstrates the Library’s commitment to responsible stewardship of the facility;  Increases library visibility in the heart of downtown FRG

Building Improvement

Purpose

Replace wooden chairs in Youth Services, plastic meeting room chairs, some upstairs wooden and upholstered chairs Demonstrates the Library’s commitment to responsible stewardship of the facility
Upgrade server, computers, and fax machine Windows ending Windows 7 extended support on January 14, 2020 and ending support for Windows 2012 server around the same time; Demonstrates commitment to providing technology suitable to the needs of FRG patrons
Landscaping Per replacement schedule; Demonstrates the Library’s commitment to responsible stewardship of the facility; Demonstrates the Library’s commitment to being a point of pride in downtown FRG

Replace wall dividing entryway and driveway exit, add flagpole lights and automation, remodel rear vestibule into enclosed meeting room, and replace walkway with a heated one Demonstrates commitment to long-term safety for front walkway; Meets patron need for private, small meeting/study room space; Demonstrates shared community value of patriotism and honoring veterans; Enhancing beauty of entryway demonstrates the Library’s commitment to being a point of pride in downtown FRG
